Katrina and Demetrius Got Engaged!

Katrina and Demetrius are one of those couples who you automatically feel comfortable around. Katrina is just so nice and welcoming and Demetrius has a smile and laugh that instantly wins you over. When we met for their engagement photos in LoDo on a chilly January afternoon, Demetrius had a meeting to get to and their son, Allister, was sitting in his stroller just outside the frame in each of these photos. That meant we only had about 30 minutes to do a quick shoot so they’d have an image for their save the date. That’s not a lot of time. Fortunately, since we felt comfortable so quickly, that entire time was spent getting great photos!

It helps that I’ve known Demetrius for a few years now. He’s a fellow photographer and we used to shoot at the same studio. Then we shared a studio for a year. We even traveled to Phoenix to photograph a wedding together, so we definitely have some history. I can’t wait to add a little more history to the mix when I photograph their wedding this June! And who knows… there might be another engagement session once spring rolls around and the weather gets a little nicer!
