Lauren and Tom’s Big Fake San Francisco Wedding

Last month I had the pleasure of photographing Lauren and Tom’s wedding here in San Francisco. Here’s a question for you, though… can you have a wedding if you’re already married? The answer is definitely YES! Lauren and Tom had a vow renewal that was disguised as a wedding, thanks to The Big Fake Wedding. For those who don’t know, The Big Fake Wedding is basically a wedding show that’s actually a wedding! Well, not really a wedding, but a vow renewal dressed up as a wedding. All of the “wedding guests” are engaged couples who get to see the vendors in action, as if they’re really attending a wedding. It’s a really neat idea and I’m so glad I got to be a part of it!

So let’s talk about the day itself. It was structured just like a regular wedding day. Lauren started out with her bridesmaids in hair and makeup. Once everyone was dressed and ready to go, we did some photos of the bridal party. I grabbed detail shots along the way. Once it was ceremony time, everyone gathered in the ballroom to witness Lauren and Tom’s vow renewal. The evening ended with eating, dancing and even a festive sendoff!

The best part of all this was meeting so many amazing wedding vendors. We’ve got some really talented people in the Bay Area wedding industry and I think most of them were at this event! I hope you enjoy these photos. I know I had a wonderful time taking them.
