Anaum and Fahad Got Married!

Anaum and Fahad were married in Denver and although I wasn’t there for the wedding ceremony, I was definitely there for the reception! They both arrived and got ready separately from one another, dressing in traditional outfits. Then both families entered the reception area and proceeded to go through a number of ceremonies. Sadly, there had recently been a death in the family, so as a show of respect there was no dancing at the reception. The evening ended with the Ruksati, or the bride bidding her parents and family farewell.

The entire evening was full of color, smells and love. The variety of saris was breathtaking, with hues of red, green, purple, yellow and more filling the room. The smell of Pakistani food filled the air, making my mouth water and stomach rumble (and it was sooo delicious!). But really, the evening was about Anaum and Fahad. Although they were very formal during the ceremonies, once we got some time alone for their photos, they relaxed and were simply a young couple in love on their wedding day. Congratulations Anaum and Fahad! It was a pleasure photographing your wedding reception!
